$650,000 and growing

Sunday's 10:00 am flight received 311 entries, which brings the total entries to 1,279 with one flight remaining at 5:00 pm today.

The prize pool has generated $652,290 as players try to secure their Day 2 seat for Monday's restart.

Remember, this is a three-day event with a livestreamed final table on Tuesday at 7:00 pm.

New Overall Chip Leader

With the conclusion of Flight 1F, Ronnie Robinson bags the new overall chip lead with 1,204,000 (151 BBs).

Robinson becomes the only player with over a million chips and will return for Monday's 1:00 pm restart with piles on blinds of 4K/8K-8K.

Two starting flights remain for the $600 Main Event and Sunday's large fields will likely produce some monster stacks.

A total of 767 Entries

With 252 entries in Flight 1E, the $500K GTD Main Event has drawn a total of 767 entries through the first five of eight starting flights.

Tonight's 5:00 pm flight will likely carry the prize pool past its guarantee.

124 players remained in Flight 1E at the close of registration. Players resumed action on blinds of 1,000/1,500-1,500 and Andrei Moiseenko is the current chip leader with 229,500 (153 BBs).

32 players will finish in the money with the final 21 players advancing to Day 2.

A Pair of Multi-Bags

Paul-Taskalos

Congratulations to both Daniel Saad and Paul Taskalos on earning the $2,000 multi-bag award.

Daniel Saad had previously bagged 139,000 in Flight 1B. He improves to a bag of 359,000, which he'll play forward in Monday's 1:00 pm Day 2 restart. He earns $2,000 for his smaller bag.

Paul Taskalos improved from a Flight 1B bag of 99,000 to his 1D bag of 127,000.

With the conclusion of 1D, 41 players have advanced to Day 2. Four starting flights remain and they are expected to be the largest flights yet.

Players Hunting $2,000 Multi-Bag Award

Daniel-Saad

Daniel Saad and Paul Taskalos both already bagged last night in Flight 1B with bags of 139,000 and 99,000 respectively.

They are currently in the money of Flight 1D with 21 players remaining and the final 12 advancing to Day 2. If they manage to bag again, they will earn a $2,000 award for their smaller bag and play their bigger bag forward on Day 2.

Taskalos recently found a double through Kayvon Shahbaz. They got everything in preflop on blinds of 3,500/7,000-7,000. Shahbaz was the button and Taskalos was in the cutoff as the effective stack for approximately 75,000.

Taskalos: Q♦Q♣ (all-in)
Shahbaz: A♣K♠
Board: K♥Q♠3♥2♠A♦

Flight C Players In The Money

During hand-for-hand on blinds of 2,500/5,000-5,000, Duc Nguyen open-jammed from the cutoff for 35,500. William Linden made the call in the big blind.

Nguyen: 3♥3♦ (all-in)
Linden: A♥Q♦
Board: K♠8♣6♠J♥Q♣

The flop and turn were clean for Nguyen's red threes, but the Qc sealed his fate as the stone bubble.

The remaining 18 players are now in the money with the final 12 players advancing to Monday's 1:00 pm Day 2 restart.

2:15 PM

Flight C Receives 140 Entries

The $500K GTD Main Event has now received a total of 341 entries across the first three flights, which contributes $173,910 to the guarantee.

18 players in Flight 1C will finish in the money with the final 12 players advancing to Monday's Day 2 restart.

Fri. Sep. 4 - 2:14 AM

Flight B bags on 4K/8K

Flight 1B bags on blinds of 4K/8K-8K with 26:34 on the clock.

Unless another flight bags on an earlier level or clock, this will be the clock for Monday's 1:00 pm Day 2 restart.

Thu. Sep. 3 - 7:46 PM

Down to 44,500 and Back Again

Kyle-Birdwell

Kyle Birdwell was caught smiling late on Day 1A and he had a valid reason. Birdwell and Gabriel Anderson had collided in a massive all-in a few levels earlier and Birdwell had found himself on life support.

On a flop of 7♠4♦2♥, Anderson check-jammed from the small blind and Birdwell called.

Anderson: J♣J♦ (all-in)
Birdwell: 8♣8♦

Birdwell was in bad shape and didn't improve on the K♣ turn and 7♣ river. Birdwell was left with 44,500 and players weren't even in the money yet.

Birdwell went on to make the money and make Day 2 with a bag of 440,000.
